Backup Communication Plan

Backup Communication Plan

A friend of mine in the military inspired this idea.  He said that the government pays for all postage while on active duty.  Apparently, a soldier can write an address and note on a torn off section of cardboard and it will get mailed.  What a great service to provide!  Communication with loved ones in times of crisis is important.

I haven’t found a way to get free shipping but I have figured out a way to send mail to loved ones if I am in the middle of a crisis.  I’m adding these Forever Stamped Postcards to my Bug Out Bag and my emergency supplies area at home.  Forever stamps are great because no matter how much the price of stamps goes up it will be mailed First Class.  If disaster strikes in my area and the phone lines & cell towers are down, I’ll find a nice volunteer worker from a Disaster Relief Agency and ask them to mail my postcard as soon as they can get to an area where the postal service is functional.  This is just a backup method of communication if my primary methods fail.  Backup Communication Plan
